StainingStaining

Acid Staining is a process that permanently changes the surface color of the concrete through a chemical reaction with the hydrated lime in the concrete. When sealed, & properly maintained an acid stained floor will last for decades.

Acid Staining Acid Stain will always produce a varied & variegated color. Since there are slight differences in mixing, pouring conditions and curing conditions, the outcome will change from slab to slab so no two stained concrete floors are alike. Acid Stains typically come in earth tones & pastels & are a natural choice for a rustic or aged look. When combined with custom scoring & your choice of finishes the outcome is sure to be a one of a kind custom floor.

Acid Staining Water Based Stain is a great alternative to Acid Stains. Water Based Stains are available in many of the same colors as acid stains. Since the color in water based stain comes from pigment & not a chemical reaction with the concrete, other more vibrant colors are also available such as yellow, red and blue. Since water based stain is water based & it doesn't have many of the more hazardous chemicals that acid stains do, it is a terrific environmentally friendly choice.
