Our History

Hello, please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Al Smith. I am the owner and founder of UniqueCrete of San Antonio and I would like to tell you a little bit about myself & my company. I have personally been an installer of various decorative concrete systems since 2002, and am experienced in stamping, staining, resurfacing, epoxy coatings & much more. I started UniqueCrete in 2005 after working for other installation companies and learning about the many different decorative concrete applications. I gained a wide knowledge base from working with various specialty companies. You see most companies at that time were focusing on one aspect of decorative concrete, whether it was staining, stamping, resurfacing or epoxy coatings. I felt I was in a unique position to offer a variety of services to meet my customers needs, rather than the "just-sell-the-one-thing-we-know-how-to-do" approach. My approach has served me well & we are now one of the leading decorative concrete companies in San Antonio.

In addition to my years of installation experience, I also served as the technical support supervisor for Texas ColorCrete from 2006 to 2010. This position gave me the opportunity to encounter & troubleshoot more problem jobs in a week than most contractors have to deal with in a year. I pride myself on my knowledge of various products and systems and their intended uses. I've found that an informed customer is always much happier in the end, and so I always try to educate my customers on their appropriate options to ensure they are satisfied with the end product.
